 Disocactus ackermannii (Ackermann's Discocactus) is an epiphytic cactus with flat, leaf-like stems, bright scarlet flowers, and wavy margins. It is common in the tropical forests of Central and South America. Known as the Red Orchid Cactus, it is widely cultivated as an ornamental houseplant for its showy flowers.

 Flowers: Funnel-shaped, large (11-15 cm in diameter), bright red with a greenish throat, appearing during the day.
Fruits: Green or brownish-red, about 4 cm long.
Characteristics: The plant branches, forming hanging clumps, and propagates well by cuttings.

 Care:

Humidity: Prefers high humidity.
Watering: Moderate, avoid standing water to prevent rot.
Propagation: By cuttings in spring and summer, allowing the cuttings to dry before planting.
