A genus of perennial early spring herbs of the Asteraceae family.
The only species is coltsfoot (Tussilago farfara).
It is widespread in Eurasia, North Africa and North America. It grows along the banks of reservoirs and the bottoms of damp ravines, on steep clay slopes, in forests, along roads, and on railway embankments.

Coltsfoot is a medicinal plant. Its leaves and flower baskets contain mucous substances, the glycoside tussilagin, saponins, carotenoids, and ascorbic acid.
It is also an ornamental early spring plant and a good honey plant.
