Hoya is a luxurious tropical liana with a lush, spreading crown. In nature, it forms 10-meter vines, and indoors, the length of the shoots does not exceed 5-6 meters.
A characteristic feature is fleshy glossy leaves, as if covered with wax. Therefore, hoya is popularly known as wax ivy.
