Under natural conditions, it grows in South and Central America (humid tropics and subtropics). The official name "Zephyranthes" is translated as "Flower of the West Wind". Apparently, this is because in the wild, as the rainy season comes and the west wind starts blowing (westerly wind), it emerges from the ground.
