The genus received its name in honor of the senior gardener of the Imperial Botanical Garden in Vienna, Joseph Dieffenbach. This is a real miracle of nature with a spreading crown and large variegated oval-shaped leaves. Dieffenbachia can be the only plant in the interior, or serve as a beautiful background for others.

The tropical evergreen plant has been cultivated for 150 years, it has become loved by gardeners for its exceptional decorative properties.
Having become a cultivated plant, dieffenbachia has changed some of its properties. The first varieties were often tall, lost their lower leaves and with it their attractiveness, in addition, they were more greenhouse than indoor.
