Clematis
Clematis is a popular climbing plant (vine), prized by gardeners for its profuse and long-lasting blooms. There are many varieties, varying in size, flower color, and, crucially, pruning group, which determines plant care.
Planting and Care Basics
Planting Location: Clematis love sun (for its flowers), but its roots prefer shade and cool conditions. It is recommended to plant it in a sunny spot, but shade the root zone, for example, by planting low-growing annuals nearby.
Soil: Requires well-drained, nutritious soil. When planting, add humus, sand, lime, and complex fertilizer to the hole.
Watering and Fertilizing: Requires regular and abundant watering. Fertilize 1-2 times a month, alternating organic (not fresh manure) and mineral fertilizers.
