A genus of annual, often perennial herbs, sometimes subshrubs of the Oxalidaceae family.
This plant improves metabolism, increases appetite, has an antihelminthic, hemostatic, wound-healing, diuretic and choleretic effect. In addition, wood sorrel eliminates heartburn, vomiting, normalizes the acidity of gastric juice, reduces blood pressure, is an antiscorbutic and antidote for mercury and arsenic poisoning.
There are more than 500 species of wood sorrel in the world, mainly in South Africa, South America and Mexico. In Russia and neighboring countries, there are 6 species.
