Peonies are perennial herbaceous plants that overwinter in the soil. They include herbaceous peonies, tree peonies and sub-shrub peonies.
Herbaceous peonies:
They form bushes with erect stems that can reach a height of 60 cm to 1.2 meters.
The above-ground part dies off in the fall, and the underground rhizome remains in the ground and produces new shoots in the spring.

They bloom in late spring and early summer.
Tree peonies:
They are distinguished by erect and thick shoots.
They can reach a considerable height, up to 2.4 meters.
Sub-shrub peonies:
They occupy an intermediate position between herbaceous and tree peonies.
All types of peonies are winter-hardy and can successfully overwinter in the soil in Grodno conditions. It is important that the planting site is well drained and the root collar of the peony is at the right depth.
