Aglaonema.

 A genus of evergreen herbs and subshrubs of the Araceae family, native to Southeast Asia. According to some sources, the genus contains 50 species, according to others, 23 species; some are cultivated as indoor ornamental plants.


 Aglaonema is an evergreen tropical plant belonging to the Araceae family. Native to Southeast Asia, this plant is famous for its beautiful leaves, not its flowers.

Appearance: Aglaonemas are bushy herbaceous plants with a short, fleshy stem and beautiful, leathery leaves, often with a bright pattern.

 Size: Reaching 60-70 cm in height, the leaves can be up to 30 cm in length and 10 cm in width.

 Leaf color: Varies from two- and three-color patterns on a light green background, with white, silvery, cream or yellow elements.

 Flowering: Aglaonemas bloom at a mature age, forming a spadix covered with a light blanket.

 Toxicity: Aglaonemas are poisonous, so when caring for them, it is recommended to use gloves and avoid contact with children and animals.
Popular species: Aglaonema commutatum (changeable), Aglaonema modestum (modest), Aglaonema pictum (painted).

 Maintenance conditions: Aglaonemas prefer diffused light, warmth and high humidity. In summer, water abundantly, in winter, moderately, avoiding drying out or over-wetting the soil.
 Beneficial properties: Aglaonemas humidify the air and reduce the level of toxic substances emitted by new furniture and gas stoves.
