Tulip Big Smile (Late Single).

Single late tulips (Tulipa single late) are quite tall (60-75 cm) and powerful, have large goblet-shaped flowers with a square base and wide blunt-ended petals. The color of single late tulips can be very diverse: from white to black, from soft pink to purple, and many varieties have a two-tone color. Single late tulips bloom in mid-May and have a high reproduction rate. Single late tulips are widely used in landscaping, some varieties are easy to force, and thanks to their strong peduncles, they are good for cutting.

Location: a flat, well-lit place, protected from cold winds. Tulips cannot be planted in an area where lilies, daffodils, tulips and other bulbous plants that have diseases and pests in common with tulips were previously grown.

Soils: Fertile, loose, moderately moist with a neutral or alkaline reaction.

Planting dates: In the central part of Russia - in late September - early October, 20-30 days before the onset of stable frosts.

Planting: Tulips are planted in rows 20-25 cm wide. The depth of planting the bulb depends on its size: the soil layer from the bottom of the bulb to the surface of the ground is 2 bulb heights on heavy soils, and 3 bulb heights on light soils. The distance between the bulbs in a row is 10-15 cm.

It is advisable to mulch the area with tulips with a layer of peat or dry leaves.

Care: In early spring, unsprouted bulbs and tulips with signs of disease are dug up and destroyed. Further care consists of regular watering, loosening the soil, and fertilizing.
