Duckweed. Plant.

  A genus of flowering monocotyledonous plants of the Araceae family.

 Representatives of the genus are tiny aquatic perennial plants, usually floating in large numbers on the surface of stagnant waters. Only one species, the tropical duckweed, is considered an annual plant.

 Duckweed is found in all countries of the world, in both temperate and tropical conditions, but only in fresh water.


 Duckweed is eaten by pigs, chickens, geese and ducks ("duck grass"), turtles.
