Araucaria araucana (lat. Araucaria araucana) is a coniferous tree.
This is a very large tree - some specimens reach a height of 60 m with a trunk diameter of up to 1.5 m.

Homeland - Chile and the western part of Argentina. As an ornamental tree, it is common in Western Europe.
Araucaria araucana is light-loving, grows in humid climates, on uniformly moist, non-swampy soils rich in nutrients. It tolerates dry conditions well, as well as light frosts.
The wood of this araucaria is yellowish-white, it is used in construction.
