The "Artek" rose is a rare, collectible hybrid tea variety of domestic origin, named after the famous "Artek" International Children's Center in Crimea. The variety is prized for its incredibly deep color, velvety texture, and strong, classic fragrance.

Full description and variety characteristics
Flowers: Large (8–9.5 cm in diameter), double-petaled, consisting of approximately 42 petals. The buds have a classic urn shape.
Color: Garnet-red with a distinct, noble, velvety black undertone. It possesses an interesting varietal trait: when exposed to bright midday sun for extended periods, the petal color may take on a slight bluish tint.
Flowering: Primarily solitary flowers on long stems; less frequently, they appear in small clusters of 2–3. In a southern climate, the variety blooms continuously and profusely from mid-June until the first autumn frosts. It sets fruit well.
Bush: Compact and neat, reaching a height of only 70–75 cm. The long flower stems make it excellent for cutting and bouquets, although the stems themselves are not exceptionally rigid.
Fragrance: Very rich, pronounced, and sweetish.
Resilience and cultivation details
Disease resistance: Moderate immunity to powdery mildew; in unfavorable, rainy years (usually by August), preventive fungicide treatment may be required.
Winter hardiness: Comparable to standard hybrid teas (requires mandatory dry-air winter protection in Central Russia).
