Caladium Agate (or Agate).

Caladium Agate (or Agate) is a rare, collectible caladium cultivar prized for its unusual "curly" texture and vibrant neon leaf coloring.

Caladium Agate (or Agate).

 Variety Features

Appearance: The leaf blades have a rich, young-green color with contrasting pink or crimson veins.

Texture: The leaves are slightly wavy at the edges, creating a "curly" effect that distinguishes this cultivar from other members of the genus.

Pattern: Crimson dots and small spots are randomly distributed across the entire leaf surface.

 Care Instructions

Caladium Agate is a tropical plant with a pronounced dormant period. To maintain its decorative appeal, the following conditions must be met:

Lighting: Requires bright, but strictly indirect light. Direct sunlight will burn the delicate leaves, and insufficient light will cause the color to fade.

Temperature: This cultivar thrives on warmth. During the active growth period (spring-summer), the optimal temperature is +22…+25°C. A temperature drop to +15°C is considered critical.

Watering and Humidity: Requires high air humidity (at least 70%). Water regularly with warm, settled water, but avoid stagnant moisture in the tray to prevent tuber rot.

Dormant Period: Reduce watering from September as the leaves begin to die. Store the tubers in a cool place (+18…+20°C) in sand or peat until the end of February.
