Papawers flowers

All types of poppy are sown by direct seeding into the soil, as they do not tolerate transplantation well. Their taproot gets sick for a long time, and there is no point in growing seedlings.

Papaver, or peony poppy, has very small seeds. It is better to sow them by mixing them with sand so that the shoots do not turn out too thick.

Before sowing, carefully prepare the soil. It should be loose and uniform. Sowing on sandy soil is successful. On clay soil, a crust may form, and poppy seeds will not germinate.

In this case, do the following: choose a place and pour in purchased soil, then level the area. The soil is abundantly moistened and poppy is sown superficially, without sprinkling it with earth. Spray water from a spray bottle from above. To retain moisture, the sowing site should be covered with spunbond, you can water it directly.
